Universal Credit and Childcare Costs

Universal Credit began rolling out in Bradford last month to some families.

The Welfare Reform Act is introducing a simpler, fairer benefits system that helps ensure people are better off in work than on benefits. Families in the Bradford District  started to come on board from 20th June 18 for new claims and change of circumstance cases.

Universal Credit pays up to 85% of the childcare costs paid by parents / carers, up to a monthly limit of £646.35 for 1 child or £1108.04 for 2 or more children.
