School Meals

Food and drink

The School Meals here at Hirst Wood Nursery School & Children's Centre are freshly prepared on the premises each day.   Each meal is £1.60 and consists of a nutritionally balanced main meal (with a vegetarian and halal option) followed by a pudding.  There are weekly menus on display outside each of the Nursery classrooms, in Reception and on the kitchen door.   We are happy to accommodate individual dietary needs – please speak to your class team.

The school dinners are on a 3 weekly cycle, which can be seen by clicking on the bar below.

Healthy snacks are provided in the morning and afternoon sessions – the present charge is £7.00 per half term for children with us for 15 hours per week. For children attending 30 hours per week the charge will be £14 per half term.      There is a pictorial and numerical sign for children to access snack independently and water and milk are always available - there is no charge for this.
